In the hills that surround the city of Cusco, there are several hidden crags of good quality limestone that have been developed for sport climbing. The “Las Queuñas” sector is around 30 minutes from Cusco and has a wall of approximately 15 metres high, with varied features including stalactites, tufas, overhangs and dihedral corners. The characteristics of this crag make it ideal for climbers of intermediate or advanced level.
The tour starts with pick up from your hotel to head to the climbing area, located close to the community of Chacan, around 30 minutes by car from the centre of the city. On arrival at the crag, the instructors will give a short briefing about the equipment and safety considerations for the day. We spend the following hours climbing a variety of routes with grades varying between 6a+ and 7b, each one with different features and styles. After trying as many routes as many times as preferred, we will return to the hotel.
