Huchuy Qosqo is an archaeological complex located on a plateau high up on the mountainside. From here there is a privileged view of the Sacred Valley of the Inca. This hike is one of the most beautiful in the region due to its natural environment and the fact that it takes place on an Inca Trail in good condition.
Pick up from your hotel in Cusco, from where we will drive to the community of Huayllarcocha where we will meet our mule handlers and pack animals. Having packed the equipment on the animals, we will start the hike, passing through fields, Andean communities and past lakes. In the early afternoon, we will arrive at Qoricocha (Golden Lake) where we will set up camp for the night.
After breakfast, we start´the hike up towards the high pass. Once we get there we will start the descent which takes us down a well-restored Inca Trail, the the Leon Punku canyon, which demarks the change from the puna to the warmer climate of the valley. The trail brings us to Huchuy Qosqo where we will have lunch and spend time exploring. Once we have finished our visit, we will descend via a steep, zigzagging trail to Lamay, where we will be met by our vehicle and return to the hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley.
